Folks,
I am a new DBA in my co. I would like to have a good practices on how to
really keep track and maintain the dbs that we have. We have a lot of dbs
around the co.
Best practices, tips to how effeciently manage the dbs would be a great
start for me. we also do have phone call support here and i wonder what type
s
of roles i can pass to them.
TIASQL Server 2000 Operations Guide
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/pr...in/sqlops0.mspx
This is a document that Microsoft put together some time ago but is
still a good best-practices reference. The part of Microsoft's TechNet
website they've dubbed Microsoft SQL Server TechCenter is also a good
source of information around tips & tricks, operations, design/planning,
etc. You can find it here:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/pr...ql/default.mspx
All that documentation should keep you reading until you're ready to retire.
