I am new to sql server. I am able to view the db in sql server but when I try and open the db in Solomon (the application) it gives me an error. "Unable to open the specified server database 'spurucker' 10004". My server name is spurucker\mysqlserver2k but the name is too long for Solomon. I could not find out how to shorten the server name. Any help would be appreciated.It looks like the application doesn't suppport named instances.
Try creating an alias for the server on the client.
