DB Suspect in SQL 6.5

I have a data base in SQL 6,5 under suspect status, in the
event viewer (NT 4,0 SP 6a), registers an error with a
problem a array of SCSI device. In the time I execute the
sp_resetstatus (store procedure), the BD returns to the
state from suspect, after being several minutes with
estatus of recovering.
What's is the procedure to move a devices for other
container, without restore and bcp procedures?Hi,
Can you update the database status manually to "0" and try dumping and
loading into a new database.
Update sysdatabases
set status=0
where name ='name'
Note:
Mostly this will not allow you to dump the database, inthat case you may
need to BCP OUT and BCP IN the data to a new database.
Thanks
Hari

help you move a database/database device to a new location. The following
article has the details:

db stuck on loaded status

I restored a full backup, then each of the logs, after the final log I performed a restore with standby option to make Read-Only, yet accessible.
Problem, database stuck in loaded status, all my logs were restored properly. How do I change status to Read-Only from Loaded?
Thanks.
Hi,
Ir seems the last transaction log was restored with NORECOVERY option. Can
you issue the below command to open the database in standby mode.
restore database <dbname> with STANDBY = 'c:\undo.ldf'
After that try to access the database.
Thanks

Thanks.

DB restore fails saying it needs more free space

Hi,
I have run into this peculiar issue
* DB was set to 'suspect' status..
* checked for physical disk size constraints
- log file is 50 gigs
* so tried to reset status...failed...by this time...DB
was missing from list in SQL EM
* so tried to restore from backup
* restore says it needs 50 gigs of space
* actual capacity of disk is 32 gigs
* how to restore the db'
appreciate all the help
thanks
vishwasSQL Server need the same amount of space for the db as it took when you did the backup. I am a
bit confused: You say the log was 50 gig, and you say that you now have only 32 gig?

DB Maintenance Plan Never Fully Completes

Frequently I have a problem where a maintenance plan will
complete, but the job status in EM states that the job is
still running with a status of "Performing Completion
Actions". I am unable to stop the job, and even though
the logs show the job to have completed successfully, the
operator is never sent the report. You could have blocking on sysoperators but it's most likely
related to the mail configuration. Does the mail profile
work correctly for other jobs? If not, you need to look at
your mail configuration. Check:
INF: How to Configure SQL Mail
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=263556
Do you have the mail profile setup for Exchange and an
Outlook Address Book service? I've seen that cause similar
issues as it doesn't cleanly handle the situation where the
mail server isn't available. Removing the Address Book
service from the profile usually cleans it up.
You can clean up the hanging job by restarting SQL Agent
service.

DB Health Check Script

Hi,
I am an Oracle DBA looking for a SQL Server Health Check script that will tell me the overall status of a database/server. Does anyone have anything like this? I'll be more than happy to share any scripts I already have for Oracle.
Thanks.Check out the system stored procedures already available, such as sp_Helpdb and sp_spaceused.

blindman|||DBCC checkdb and dbcc checktable help as well. DBCC stands for database consistency checker. Type in DBCC in BOL (Books-online) and it will show you a bunch of commands that may help you.
